WECO Cooling tower motors are specially designed flange mounted motors in totally enclosed construction to suit air conditioning & refrigeration industries. They are provided with special long shaft construction with external threaded end to directly mount the fan blades. This also helps in the better cooling of the motor. Motors are compact in design & less in weight to facilitate easy maintenance. Cast Iron Severe Duty construction with corrosion proof epoxy undercoat and epoxy finish paint for long life. Motors with Pressure Diecast Aluminium Housings for extra Light Weight can also be provided upto 180 Frame. Bearings are sealed with grease for lifetime with seals on shaft to prevent moisture and debris from getting into the bearing. Plus opposite drive end shield has sealed shaft hole. Provision for horizontal lifting is provided as standard, while vertical lifting for easy handling of motor during installation can be provided. They are available as standard catalogue designs or as custom built.
“PURVI†brand crane duty motors are specially designed for frequent starts/stops & reversing required in cranes & lifts of all types. They can also be used in applications such as material handling, lifts, cranes, hoists, weirs & sluices, auxiliary motors in rolling mills or wherever intermittent drives are required. Positive locking between rotor and shaft is provided with keyed joint on motors from 132 frame and above. These motors can be provided with brakes fitted on Non Driving End for instantaneous stopping. Brakes are used for various applications where instantaneous stopping of the driven load is required. The operation of the brake is ‘FAIL SAFE TYPE’ i.e. normally on. The brake is applied when the motor is switched off or if power failure occurs. In applications where total load stopping time is not very critical, AC side interruption is used and in applications where faster stopping is necessary, DC side interruption is used. Note: The motor must not be switched ON unless the brake is energized and the brake should not be de-energized when the motor is ON. Interlocking of two contactors is absolutely necessary for safety of motor and brake as well.
Motor efficiency is the ratio of mechanical power output to the electrical power input, usually expressed as a percentage. Energy-efficient motors, also called premium or high- efficiency motors, are 2 to 8% more efficient than standard motors. Motors qualify as "energy-efficient" if they meet or exceed the efficiency standards. WECO Energy-efficient motors owe their higher performance to key design improvements and more accurate manufacturing tolerances. Lengthening the core and using lower-electrical-loss steel, thinner stator laminations, and more copper in the windings reduce electrical losses. Improved bearings and a smaller, more aerodynamic cooling fan further increase efficiency. They have higher service factors and bearing lives, less waste heat output, and less vibration, all of which increases reliability.
Standard AC Induction Motors are limited to fixed speed application even though the process can be run over a speed range. There are applications where, at times, the process can be run at lower speeds. In doing so, peak demand can be reduced and electric bills reduced by the energy savings. For such variable speed applications, a VFD or Variable Frequency Drive is needed. Inerter Duty Motors are designed for optimized performance to run with variable frequency drive which can operate for wide speed range without any heating problem. This motor has windings that can withstand harmonics and higher voltages and is also designed with proper cooling to run at lower speeds. Other features specific to the design of the inverter duty motor include • Extra heavy insulation in the slots • Extra end turn bracing • Double dip and bake polyester varnish
“PURVI†FHP Single-Phase Motors are suitable for applications in domestic, commercial, entertainment, scientific, industrial fields, powering small type machine tools and water pumps. These motors are integrated with up-to-date design, built with the best quality materials with outstanding performance, easy maintenance and reliable running. Single phase motors are capacitor start and run, capacitor start capacitor run or capacitor start induction run. These are suitable for 230V, 50 Hz single phase ac supply and conform to IS 996 and BS 5000 part II for performance. Capacitor start and Capacitor run motors have high starting torque which is suitable for machine tools, washing machines, blowers, centrifugal pumps etc while Capacitor run motors are with low starting torque (40% full load torque) suitable for washing machines, blowers, centrifugal pumps, etc.
Standard Three Phase Squirrel Cage Induction Motors are designed, manufactured and tested to meet the latest Indian and International standards. Their proven high quality and rugged cast iron (Series R) construction backed by a 12 month warranty make the WECO motors ideally suitable for all industrial markets. They are manufactured in frame sizes 63 to 180 in different polarities, suitable for 415V, 50Hz ac supply in class B insulation, IP-44 enclosure in various types of construction. Aluminium Pressure Diecast Housings are available in Series J (IS 56 to 100 frame) and Series K (IEC 56-180 frame), while the same can be provided in MS Shell Housing, Series S (56 to 112 fame) on request. End Covers are of Cast Iron as a standard feature except for 56 frames (aluminium). Aluminium End covers and Flange for all frames can be provided in Series K (except 160 & 180) motors while Aluminium End Covers are available for 63, 71 and 80 frames in Series J motors.
Torque motors are asynchronous motors which are constructed for a permanent standstill operation. These motors are similar to standard induction motors but with a modified high resistance rotor design. Unlike, the normal induction motors which try to maintain the speed as it is being loaded the torque motors have a torque speed characteristic, which is nearly linear. This means from the standstill stage to the full RPM, the available torque reduces almost linearly. The torque motors are designed so that they can dissipate any heat which occurs without any problems. This characteristic makes it suitable in applications where the speed is required to reduce with the increase in load. By changing the input voltage of the torque motor we can change the maximum torque available at the shaft. At any voltage if the load on the torque motor is removed it tries to accelerate to the synchronous speed. Torque motor offers braking torque when its rotor is driven against its normal direction of rotation when energised. This characteristic is used to provide back tension in winding cycle. Torque motors are generally rated on the basis of locked rotor torque in Nm or Kgm or Kgcm.
WECO presents a full line of energy-saving, durable, adjustable, versatile, rotary electric vibrators. They offer more efficient handling of bulk solids in a wide variety of applications from food processing and pharmaceutical to heavy industrial. These heavy-duty vibrators in single or three-phase models are designed and built to withstand punishing industrial use. Spike-resistant three-phase models can be supplied to withstand the special electrical loads encountered with inverter use. The unbalance motor generates rotary centrifugal force due to unbalance weights fixed on either side of the motor. This centrifugal force set the hole mass vibrating. The frequency of vibration depends on motor RPM and the amplitude of vibration depends on the mass being vibrated.
